With 34 years of experience in the IT industry, you could say David is somewhat of a veteran of his field. It’s why he is such a valuable support arm to CSG’s sales team, who bring in David to assist with the pre and post sales activities across CSG’s business solutions portfolio. 

Whilst a jack of all trades, David is also a specialist in colour printing, digital displays, document management and scanning – all the important solutions that enable businesses to achieve cost and operational efficiencies. 

The role that David plays in pre and post sales is a big part of CSG’s value offering. We know some of our customers have technical questions or need a custom solution, and David supports both the customer and our sales agents by ensuring all deals make sense from a technical perspective; that the customer is not getting more or less than they need and that the solution is achieving its goals after implementation. 

What problems do you help CSG customers solve?

David: “CSG’s solutions are all about helping businesses to operate a little easier. Whether it is through easy content management on digital displays, or through automating workflows. A good example is Gerard Lighting. We implemented a solution for Accounts Payable invoice scanning and document management with GL coding and approval workflows. This will save Gerard Lighting literally hundreds of hours a year and removes any risk of human error. They love it.”

What are some positive customer outcomes you are proud to have been part of?

David: “Being in a support role I am constantly assisting customers in working with the technology solutions we sell. I have been involved with a number of interesting projects in particular digital displays with directional signage in cemeteries, to street front video walls for music schools. The customers love the ease of use of the solution and the direct impact on their day to day business.”

What has been the most rewarding project you have worked on? 

David: “The work we do for our customers is always rewarding, but for me personally it’s most rewarding to work for a business that supports its community. As an example, this year I am taking part in the Puka Up charity bike ride from Sydney to Melbourne to raise awareness for suicide. CSG are a premier sponsor of the charity and the event, and it’s an honour to have been selected as one of only two men to represent CSG. I have personally been effected by suicide, losing my brother in law and a very close work colleague. Seven days of riding on the road and through rough terrain will be one of the hardest physical challenges I have ever done – but I hope the kilometres we cover will help raise awareness and funds for a worthwhile cause.”
