CSG is implementing full end-to-end Managed Print Services for one of the largest Australian Universities. We were tasked with systematically analysing each business unit and developing a current state report and an optimisation proposal for potential improvements and rationalisation strategies within these complex print environments.

This broke down into:

CSG conducted an audit of the existing printing arrangements and developed a series of recommendations that has not only right sized the print fleet but delivered significant cost savings. We implemented software solutions such as Uniflow and CSG Connect to manage printing and reduce unnecessary printing. The software also enables issues to be identified and solved before they become a problem such as replacing toner or paper before they run out. Our 2 dedicated Valet service staff on site ensure the printers are always in excellent condition.

  • Providing and fully managing a standard process to procure new equipment from a standard vendor agnostic device catalogue, allowing for non-standard devices where a specific business need is identified and approval is given
  • Managing existing print equipment in accordance with the agreed rationalisation strategies
  • Installing, configuring and training university staff for any procured equipment
  • Managing break/fix services (for both new and existing equipment under management)
  • Proactively monitoring and ordering consumables
  • Providing onsite Valet services to replenish paper and toner, proactively identify potential faults, clean devices, provide a quick response to break/fix calls and train staff
  • Managing the equipment move/change/disposal process
  • Comprehensive reporting to ensure continuous improvement
  • Billing in one single consolidated invoice for all equipment, consumables and services
Outcomes and benefits:

Improved efficiencies and control in the procurement process of print devices and a reduction in internal support requirements

Continuous management of an accurate print asset register

Vendor-agnostic rationalisation strategies for the most appropriate device options

Higher end-user satisfaction due to improved print fleet management service and on-site support

Decreased environmental impact due to a reduction in paper and energy use Increased transparency of print fleet utilisation
